In Kannada, Malnad means hilly region and Giddameans dwarf. These cows are taken to forest in the morning and they comes back at evening after completing an average walking distance of around 30km. Average milking per cow is 1.5L per day. The natural grazing in the herbal rich western ghats forests makes their milk rich in supplement value.
