This is a nice soap. There are not too many shaving soaps in a reasonable price range available in India. Either one has to rely on the Godrej Shaving round (Rs. 25) or buy something ultra-expensive costing thousands of rupees.This is where a couple of companies have found a niche and Pink Woolf is one of them.The soap is great, with a mild, refreshing scent that does not overpower. The whiff of sandalwood is just perfect. It lathers well - both in the box and in a bowl, so all-round, this works very well for me. Great experience with the product. They also sent a sample of their pre-shave oil for me to try. Very sweet gesture, that!But this is a five-star review more because of the personal engagement on part of the seller. The hand-written note and follow-up email were a cool touch and not something one sees often. Wet-shaving is a niche hobby and any kind of engagement by the sellers with the enthusiasts is highly appreciated.Keep up the good work guys.

Ordered 2 soaps , got one with seal and the other one with out seal.The one with out seal had a broken cap, and looks like someone used it .Disappointed.

This soap doesn't have much "fat" or glycerine to lubricate the face well. Using the pre-shave oil (that they gave with the soap for free) helps a lot, but still is not upto the mark for me. I guess I am not a "shave soap" person. Otherwise, the soap's presentation is great. And it smells nice but not overpowering.Update Jan 2020: I started adding 3-6 drops of the pre-shave oil into the puck before lathering and swirled the brush 50-100 times in the puck. It has made a huge difference to the lather thickness and glide.Update Feb 2020: After starting to use Trigodon, I now know how a fatty soap should feel like. I need to swirl the brush 5-10 times in the puck of Trigodon (vs. 50-100 times in PinkWoolf). I would not buy pink woolf again.Update Aug 2020: I realize now why this soap is so dry. Its largely glycerine based. So it takes a lot more swirls of the brush (50-100 swirls) to get decent lather and that lather dries out quickly. Trigodon is largely coconut oil based so lather is enduring.Update April 2023: After using Pre De Provence 63, It is even more next level than Trigodon. And I use it as a soap stick. Wet the face and rub the soap on the face. and then lather with a wet brush.On a per gram basis, Trigodon is cheaper than PinkWoolf!!And if you can get Pre De Provence 63 from US, its even cheaper than Trigodon.

So I wanted to take some time and use this before I reviewed the product. To begin with, this is just what I wanted, awesome.The product arrived well packed in a cardboard box. Hands down, applause to the Brand, presentation was just perfect.Now comes usage.A. It gives a rich lather as it should and one can really feel the difference in razor glide compared to usual shaving creams.B. Doesn't leave the skin irritated or dry. I usually dab an aftershave, just to moisturize, get some fragrance and sterilize any cuts (when shaving in a hurry, damn). But I didn't need one with this. The sandalwood and oud fragrance is just right and I didn't get cuts even in a hurried shave with razor running over some swollen sunburn.Great product and I'd recommend this to all wet shaving enthusiasts. If you have a safety or straight razor, dump the cream and get this stuff

My regular shaving cream/soap are Proraso sandalwood, Taconic lavender and Parker sheabutter. I use synthetic brush for daily shave and badger brush when I have time on my hands.However, I always try any artisan or local emerging brands operating in Wet Shaving category to find my next goto thing as the above brands' supply tend to be erratic.My eyes set on Pink Woolf's oudh & sandalwood after reading the description and associated reviews whereafter I instantly ordered a jar for testing.Delivery was fast and I got the jar within 4 days. For the first time of use, I used my synthetic brush, Merkur 34C, fresh Feather Blade with this and Bombay Shaving Co's aftershave. I don't use any pre-shave product as I like to have bath in warm water and shave just after.Loading of the brush with this soap was not difficult and I was able to whip up a good lather within 20-30 seconds. I will not call the scent of this soap scintillating. On opening the jar, the scent does comes off as aggressive but settles down to becoming mild quickly. Application of the lather was also not a problem but this depends upon the user.However, once I started my 1st pass, I realized that although foamy, the lather was not slick enough to aid DE razor. Proraso and Parker did not have this problem. After the 2nd pass, I could feel the razorburns under my chin. Also, I did not have any cooling or relaxing effect of this soap on my skin. Also, once I had put on my aftershave, the sandalwood scent disappeared completely.Since my first shave till writing of this review, I have had around 8-10 shaves and I have tried a lot of combinations like warm water, normal water, badger brush, synthetic brush, wet loading, dry loading, precision loading but the abovesaid problems remained. Also, in only 8-10 shaves, the container is about to get finished which reveals the quality of the soap ingredients used.Therefore, to summarize:Pros- Good lather (Use damp brush and slowly add some drops of water)- Okayish scent.Cons- Scent does not stay long- No refreshing effect on the skin- Lather is not slick- A lot of soap is required for loading the brush due to which just after 8-10 shaves, I am about to reach the bottom of the container. And I don't even shave every day, just every third day.All in all this is a mediocre shave soap with an okayish but mild scent and terrible value for money. Maybe I might try their different offerings in the future but as of now, I would definitely not recommend their products.However, having said that, I would not write off the company as yet. Judging by the positive reviews, I guess a lot of people are benefiting and enjoying their products which is a good sign for wet shaving in India. I wish this company the best.

I just received the product and started using it. It is quite bigger than I expected, therefore has value for money. The product is beautiful in appearance and has in international class look and finishing. So far, it feels good and has a nice fragrance. Overall, I am satisfied and happy to see that local products in India made like high end international brands.

Need more fragrances for sure. I mean sandalwood is amazing and who doesn’t like it and I hope the Pink Woolf people bring some more fragrances.The soap is outstanding. It didn’t work well with my normal brush but with the boar brush works amazingly well. I guess a good soap needs an equally good brush!!! The soap has hardly any dent in the weeks I have been using and looks like it’s going to last a very long time. The skin is soft, refreshed at the end of the shave.The founder sent a note with the soap and a pre shave oil & after shave gel sample. Both are equally good and essential to a smooth shave. I am just waiting for my current stock to end so I can buy the oil and gel as well. Way to go, Pink Woolf team.
