Very poorly designed. The plates do not fit properly. The top ones sit over the batter inside the below plates. The screw at the bottom loosens everytime you use it. Also the bottom of the pot has gone black with heat as it is very thin

The quality of the steel is not good. The base has turned black right after 2 uses. The top handle of the lid comes off everytime (the screw used is smaller than it should have been).Utility wise its decent, as any other idly maker, just that the quality should have been better.

Product was good but seller gave a USED PRODUCT. As I used it last week for first time..I could easily see grease stains as well as burnt bottom of steamer. Dont know what to do now.

Easy to use, prepares idli nicely. Overall nice product at this cost.One improvement that I can think of is, if the upper lid has some sort of handle like a pressure cooker handle, it will be easier to open it once it is hot, otherwise we have to wait for some time for the idli maker to cool down and then open it. You can't just open it using the top handle, because the lid is quiet tight (for obvious reasons).

Pro : Neat and clean lines .Idlis turned out well.Cons : 1. the bottom is made from very thin sheet of steel. Thicker gauge would be more durable1. The knob to hold the plates is made from very sub standard material. Has no head to hold properly. Likely to break or wear out soon .Small things like this defines a company . Expected better quality from pigeon. Right now using the knob from my old plates which is of superior quality and has a good head.

It is a multi-purpose utensil which can be used not just for making idlis, but also momos and other items. However the lid of the cooker came with a slight dent(ref: second photo). Ignoring that, the product is of good utility otherwise. The whistle adds as a safety measure.
