Each pressure cooker made by Hawkins features an inside fitting lid. This design is inherently safer than conventional pressure cookers. To open any Hawkins cooker, you have to first lower the lid slightly into the body of the cooker; and that cannot be done until the steam pressure inside the cooker falls to a safe level. Thus Hawkins pressure cookers are pressure-locked for safety - like a jetliner door!

I totally disliked this product. Firstly they sent the product with scratches all over the body and then I replaced it and when I used it , it was again a bad one. The whistle was not working and the pressure gauge was not working. When I asked them to return it, they didn't even reply. I'm sorry but I never thought this kind of service you're giving.

Received larger gasket than the size (1.5 litre) of the lid. This is not expected of Hawkins. Seems no quality checks. Rest other things are OK.

This is the condition after just 1st used. I don't know how to get rid of it coz i cannot wash it off even after hard scrubbing. Didn't expect this with such a good brand. And water was coming out from the cooker while cooking rice in just 3rd use. I have used a local brand for 5yrs with cheaper price but still haven't seen this kind of spots which cannot remove. But this is the condition of the product being a big brand. Very disappointed.
