First of all, a nice product from the Seller Vinod Cookware. Great looking with heavy duty steel and Tempered Glass Lid. Perfect Finish with no chance of Steam Leakage. Thanks to the seller. Now Review: We are family with 4 members. And tonight, my mom and my wife gave it a try and they wanted to make Chicken Momo. Its a 18 CM Steamer and they made more or less 40 momos I guess. And what I looked when they are preparing the momos, this steamer can make almost 60 to 70 momos easily. After preparing everything, they put it on Gas Oven by filling Soup with 1/2 level of the bottom bowl. And no steam was leaking from any side. Stunning part is the top tempered glass lid. You can monitor without even opening the lid and the steam release hole on the lid was doing its job perfectly. Smell started pouring the kitchen and the dining room. :) And as there was no steam leakage, it completed cooking within 10 minutes. Taste was exactly like what we eat on malls. Momos were so soft. And this steamer was the main attraction of everyone. :) Mom and my wife, they loved this steamer a lot. Mirror finish, easy to wash..Top Glass Lid is really cool. Made with heavy duty steel. No Complaints about the steamer. Loved it. And for those who wants to know if steam gets leaked or not: the answer is NO. No steam is leaking. Idli can be made in it too. Also those who want to make Steamed Fish or Veggies or Bengali "Pitha", they can use it too... Go for it. 18 Cm is perfect for 4 or 5 member families. Last but not the least: This steamer can be used with LPG as well as on Induction too as the bottom part of the Steamer is made of great quality of Aluminum which is Induction friendly. Thanks to the Seller. Thanks to Amazon for a great quality of perfect packaging and thanks to India Post for delivering the package within 2 days.

I don't know how you rate a steamer pan, but since mine isn't giving any trouble , I guess it's full marks. Both steaming tray and lid fit well, lower pan can be used as normal pan with the lid. I also use steaming part as colander sometimes )) The size is medium, will fit about 10-12 momos. Good purchase, but if you have a big family of eaters, consider investing into a steamer with a bigger diameter or 2-3 level one. We are a family of 3 eaters with average appetite, I make 3 batches of momos for a normal meal ( they cook fast though, 6-7 minutes).

Good purchase, but if you have a big family ...

Steaming can be done very easily. Can take the strainer pot easily while cooking to check the water level in the bottom vessel .this feature is lacking in other steamers. Heavy bottomed vessel, so ease of cooking.

I used the gadget to steam some Bok Choi (Chinese cabbage). I steamed it for 10-15 minutes and it came out fine, despite the steam leakage from the sides of the lid. I also steamed broccoli and it was cooked in 5-10 minutes. A third item I steamed was dhokla mix. I put the mix in small foil containers and put the containers with the mix in the steam compartment. It came out very well -- light and fluffy. I steamed dhokla mix in a pressure cooker also and found that there was no difference -- dhokla made in this steamer was as good as dhokla steamed in a pressure cooker without the weight on top. I have found the gadget to be convenient and useful. So much for the positives. Now for the negatives. The lid is made of glass, is susceptible to breakage. So you have to handle it with care. Also, you have to make sure that there is water in the lower chamber. Otherwise, the sandwich bottom may get overheated and fall apart. The sandwich bottom, in fact, looks thin and katcha, in contrast to the rest of the product which has a heavy-duty stainless steel look. After the first usage itself, the bottom got discoloured. After a few uses, the insides got discoloured slightly. It does not seem like it is made of stainless steel. We also don't know if the stuff it is made of is safe for steaming veggies. When the gadget is on the flame, the metal parts can get heated up and you have to take care that you don't touch it with your bare hands. Though hollow, the handles do get heated up and can hurt you if you do not take precautions. Make sure you don't touch the gadget when it is hot and also, be careful not to get scalded by the steam coming out. Put off the flame first and then open the lid with baking gloves on your hands -- or protect your hands with a piece of cloth. The handles are attached to the body in what seems like a flimsy way. It looks like the handles could come off at some stage, particularly if you do not handle with care. This remains to be seen. Will update my review accordingly. There is a 24 month manufacturer's warranty, but to avail of it, you have to bear the postal costs of returning the item to the manufacturer and also, the postal cost of having the replacement sent to you. The postage charges may amount to more than the cost of the item itself. So, If something happens -- for instance if the glass lid breaks or the handles come off, you will have to trash the item because it won't be worth your while to follow up with the manufacturer. However, if the handles haven't come off, then, even if the glass lid breaks, you can still use the item as a top-less cooking utensil. If the lid and the handles both break, then you can still use the gadget for growing moong-sprouts. On a lighter note, if the material it is made of is not food-grade, then maybe you will die of food-poisoning -- in which you won't need the item any more. P.S. The photo of the gadget on Amazon.in is of some other model which seems to have two steaming chambers in place of just one. The product that I am reviewing here has only one steamer compartment. It has one container for the water and another steaming compartment

Advantages
This is incredible vue for money, but if you want the absolute sturdiest, most heat-conducting and highest quality stainless steel utensil, you would have to shell out five times what this steamer's worth. But at 1,000 rupees, compromises had to be made with the product. I would advise you to pick up the smaller or mid-size version if you don't steam food much, you'd be wasting a ton of water woth the largest size vessel. You can't really save water with this product whether you want to or not, because the corners cut in manufacturing show very clearly. The irregular hotspots in the pan show up as heat blisters in the first image, and that's unavoidable unless you use way more water than you think you need. It could cause the pan to basically suck after a couple of years, but that's what you get for 1,000 bucks (largest size). And that's not a terrible thing, really. For what it's worth, it's amazing that stainless steel ccokware can get this cheap and still give you so much. So for easy meal prep, this is the product for you.

Glass lid is very loose. It would have been better if I had purchased the product directly from market after checking the lid.
