For sheer versatility in your creative work watercolor is an unmatched medium. The convenient pod container secures your pencils just like a pencil case.Derwent Academy Watercolor Pencils allow you to create in a variety of ways:Dry pencil on wet or dry paper - Creates a firm line on dry paper and becomes spread out with soft edges on wet paper.Wet pencil on wet or dry paper - Creates a soft-edged line for more ethereal renderings such as sky and water.Dry pencil and wash-over with a wet painbrush - Creates almost any visual effect with soft or hard edges. Advantages
The Derwent watercolor pencils were okay. I have heard a lot about this brand and I thought that the colour pencils would be of really high quality. So I always wanted to try the brand. When I saw that it was on 70% discount I immediately bought it.Pro1. Pigment is nice2. Colors are good3. Lots of colours to choose from4. Lot of optionsCons1. Some of the leads broke on putting a bit more pressure.2. Some colours are so close to each other that there was no point having two different pencils for the same3. Too many Browns in the spark it would have been better to get some other colours instead of 8 different varieties of brown4. The colours don't blend easily.
Comment
The colours are okay.

Advantages
More darker tone was expected in colours but acceptable. Tip softness is really good and these are easy to use pencils. My only issue is with the packing for delivery. The Tin box delivered to me is bend from the middle and not able to rest on the flat table surface.
Comment
Product is really good but Silkrute's packing is not good.

Disadvantages
I love Derwent products and so far they have never disappointed. But this set of colouring pencils feels like a left over or rejected remnant from what was meant for western markets. Some colours even have completely different outside colour than what it actually is. They dont blend well and when using water brush they dont spread the colour much. They dont really feel like proper water colour pencils.Box seems to be original, however the pencils are not adequate for Derwent brand.

Disadvantages
It cannot serve the purpose of watercolor pencils. It's very hard, not properly water soluble. You can neither use it dry nor wet. Do not go for it. Much better options are available.Silkrute doesn't allow to return this, only gives replacement option. Silkrute customer has become pathetic. There is no option to talk to them. I have made many purchases from Silkrute. Never knew that Silkrute turned such pathetic business platform, that they are not ready to reach out!!!!!!

Advantages
The tin box and the product in appearance were fine but the pigments of the colours and the smoothness is not at all up to the mark. Without water they are not good but work fine when used with water. The wood is good quality but need to press when using to get proper pigment. It is still an affordable price for students who are still learning.
Comment
Would recommend only for beginners and on the first stage of learning.
