These soft pastels are good and for beginners it is the best. You can try and study the effects of colour. Blending is so good. The package is the worst. Colours are broken. I have to do a replacement coz of my first delivered pastels were broken to the fact that it turned into sand, just coloured sand falling off the box when I opened the package and also so many colours were broken to be honest. Even my replacement package, three pastels were broken. Amazon, please make sure you deliver the unbroken pieces of boxe to customers. I can understand that these pastels are easily broken but that's not an excuse.

11 out of 36 sticks already broken before opening, packaging need to be sturdier for sure, I got super torn box looks like it was on shelf and moved a lot in 2 years, but colors r great, saves lot of time compared to pencils, just packaging need to be sturdier and camel will have clear winner.

The packaging was not faulty at all when received. All soft pastels were in great condition (no breakage) and this would be overall great for intermediate since the number of shades is not too low and not too many (which would be suitable for advanced artists). They work as they are supposed to-- soft and leave a high amount of pigment on the surface. Could be used on paper, sandpaper, etc.
